Xavier girls volleyball places second at Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invite

JACKSON – The Xavier girls volleyball team finished 4-1 to take second place at the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invitational on Saturday.
Xavier survived three close matches to reach the finals before losing to Waunakee 25-15, 25-18.
The Hawks defeated New Berlin West 25-20, 21-25, 15-9; Lakeside Lutheran 25-17, 25-20; Pewaukee 16-25, 25-23, 15-7; and Kettle Moraine Lutheran 22-25, 25-15, 15-13 to make it to the championship match.
Sydney Neilitz had 76 assists, 19 digs and five service aces, Grace Hackl had a team-high 43 digs, and Bralee Kiepert led Xavier with 34 kills in the five matches.
Rose Kendall added 23 kills and four blocks, Lexi Allen had 18 kills and seven blocks, and Bella Velasquez had 18 digs for the Hawks.
Xavier hosts Shawano for a Bay Conference match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
