Xavier girls volleyball tops Fox Valley Lutheran in championship match of Battle of the Valley Tournament

HARRISON – Xavier won all four of its matches, including a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Fox Valley Lutheran in the championship, to win the Battle of the Valley Tournament to open the 2025 season on Tuesday at The Barn.

In pool play, Xavier defeated Little Chute 25-14, 25-19, and Chilton 25-15, 25-17, before taking down Howards Grove in the semifinals 25-14, 25-22, and Fox Valley Lutheran 20-25, 25-16, 15-3, to claim the tournament title.

Fox Valley Lutheran reached the championship match with wins over Wrightstown, Appleton East and Howards Grove.

Sydney Neilitz had 65 assists, six service aces and 21 digs, Braelee Kiepert had a team-best 20 kills and 17 digs, and Rose Kendall added 18 kills in the four matches for the Hawks.

Allie Gioffredi chipped in 17 kills and six blocks, and Grace Hackl had 10 service aces and a team-high 27 digs as well for Xavier.

Brianna Stewart had 15 kills and five blocks, Kenzie Loberger had 36 assists, 22 digs, 13 kills and 13 aces, and Riley Schmitz had 46 digs and five aces for FVL in its four matches.

Appleton East results and stats were not reported.
