Xavier’s Rodriguez Salgado places fourth at WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament

MADISON – Xavier junior Cristian Rodgriguez Salgado picked up a fourth-place medal as the 2026 WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament concluded on Saturday at the Kohl Center.

Rodiguez Salgado finishes the season with a 39-3 record after losing a Division 2 106-pound third-place match to Malakai Barker (53-3) of Osceola, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Xavier’s other state participant, John Faulkner, was eliminated in a 150-pound consolation semifinal on Saturday morning, falling to Ben Lauer of Waukesha North, 10-3. Faulkner finishes his senior season with a 44-5 record.
