Hortonville shuts out Appleton East baseball

HORTONVILLE – Hortonville pitcher Mason Burrichter tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout as the Polar Bears blanked Appleton East 8-0 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Tuesday at Commercial Club Park.
Burrichter struck out nine while walking two as the Polar Bears improve to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the FVA.
Tristan Berrens hit a three-run home run in the first inning and Hortonville added a single run in the second and three more runs in the fourth to build a commanding lead.
Calvin Feucht had a double for one of Appleton East’s two hits in the loss. The Patriots are now 2-3 overall and 0-3 in the FVA.
Appleton East plays at Oshkosh North on Thursday.
