Oshkosh North rallies to knock off Appleton East baseball

OSHKOSH – Oshkosh North overcame an early three-run deficit to top Appleton East 5-3 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Thursday at E.J. Schneider Field.
Oscar Crownhart was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in the first run and Blake Dietzen smacked a two-run single to put the Patriots up 3-0 in the top of the first inning.
Appleton East would not get another hit the rest of the way. Jackson Anderson struck out 10 over five innings and Keegan Kinzfogl threw two shutout innings to earn the save for the Spartans (2-4, 1-3 FVA).
A.J. Thompson went the distance on the mound for East (2-4, 0-4 FVA), striking out nine with five walks and five hits allowed.
Appleton East hosts Neenah on Tuesday.
