Appleton United boys lacrosse blasts Notre Dame in conference opener

APPLETON – The Appleton United boys lacrosse team kept its perfect start to the season intact with a resounding 12-3 win over Green Bay Notre Dame in its Bay Valley Conference opener Thursday night at Appleton East High School.

Appleton (4-0 overall) cruised out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter, was up 7-0 by halftime and finished off the win with a 5-3 advantage in the second half.

Juniors Sam Stillwell and Roen Willis each had three goals, and Jaylen Kempfer tacked on a pair of scores for Appleton. Wes Post, Ethan Toshner, Max Segelstrom and Ben Wilke also added goals in the win.

Appleton will travel to Waunakee on Monday for a battle of two top-10 state ranked teams. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
