Appleton North softball picks up nonconference win over Southern Door

APPLETON – Brianna Gehrman knocked in three runs to lead the Appleton North softball team to a 5-1 win over Southern Door in a nonconference game Monday at North High School.
Gehrman hit a two-run homer in the third inning and drove in a run with a double in the fourth to pace North’s offense that finished with 12 hits.
Drew Brown was 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI as well for the Lightning (6-1).
Evelyn Frega went the distance in the circle for North, striking out 15 while allowing three hits and three walks.
Appleton North is back at home Tuesday to take on Hortonville in a Fox Valley Association game at 4:30 p.m.
