Xavier finishes fourth, Appleton East fifth at Fox Valley Metro Boys Golf Invitational

SHERWOOD – Appleton North senior Jonathan Huenink shot a 2-under par 69 to finish fourth at the Fox Valley Metro Boys Golf Invitational on Monday at High Cliff Golf Course.

Kimberly’s Tyler Steeno and Seymour’s Vince Sigl both shot 5-under par 66 to tie for meet medalist honors, with Kimberly’s Collin Hermann taking third with a 68. Huenink birdied three of his last four holes to shoot a 69, and Owen Sigl of Seymour fired a 70 to round out the top five.

Team standings were not reported.

Xavier had a score of 305 to place fourth, Appleton East took fifth with a 314, Xavier-2 was ninth with a 328, Appleton North had a 337 to finish 13^th, Fox Valley Lutheran was 14^th with a 343, and Appleton West ended up 16^th with a 360.

Derek Watry finished seventh with a 70, and William Bauman and Grant Neumann both shot 77 to tie for 13^th for Xavier.

Tyler Bell of Appleton East was also in the tie for 13^th with a 77 to lead the Patriots.
