Waunakee sends Appleton United boys lacrosse to first loss of season

WAUNAKEE – Defending WIAA state champion Waunakee handed Appleton United its first loss of the season, rolling to a 15-3 victory in a nonconference boys lacrosse game Monday night at Waunakee High School.
Waunakee took a 3-0 lead before Appleton closed to within one on goals from Roen Willis and Jaylen Kempfer.
The Warriors (2-1) regrouped and finished the game on a 12-1 advantage.
Ben Wilke had Appleton’s final goal.
Appleton (4-1) will play Oneida Nation (2-0) at Green Bay Southwest High School for a Bay Valley Conference game Wednesday at 7 p.m.
