Fond du Lac wins slugfest over Appleton East softball

APPLETON – Grace Fecteau and Nina Kubiak each homered in the Appleton East softball team’s 16-8 loss to Fond du Lac in a Fox Valley Association game Thursday at East High School.

Fond du Lac had 18 hits, including seven for extra bases. Breahna Mentink had two hits and five RBI, and Maddy Gau had four hits, including a home run, and scored four times for the Cardinals (5-4, 2-1 FVA).

Kubiak had two hits and four RBI, and Aubrey Heinz also had two hits and scored twice for Appleton East, which falls to 1-5 overall and 0-5 in the FVA.

Appleton East is back at home Friday against Oshkosh West. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
