Appleton North baseball holds off Fond du Lac for ninth-straight win

FOND DU LAC – The Appleton North baseball team remains undefeated in the Fox Valley Association after defeating Fond du Lac 3-1 on Thursday at Fond du Lac High School.
Colin Reddy threw five shutout innings, allowing just two hits, to earn the win and Owen Reuland allowed a run in two innings of relief to pick up the save for the Lightning, who are now 9-1 overall and 6-0 in the FVA.
Appleton North scored all three of its runs in the fourth inning as Matthew Hietpas, Reuland and Nathan Ramus had consecutive RBI singles leading the Lightning to their ninth-straight victory.
Appleton North will play a nonconference game at Bay Valley Conference leader Fox Valley Lutheran on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
