Xavier takes third, FVL fourth at fifth Bay Conference Boys Golf Meet

DE PERE – Xavier placed third and Fox Valley Lutheran fourth at the fifth leg of the Bay Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Ledgeview Golf Course.

Winneconne won the team title with a score of 157, three shots ahead of Seymour and four in front of Xavier. Fox Valley Lutheran was fourth with a 165.

Vince Sigl of Seymour won medalist honors with a 34, two strokes in front of Winnconne’s Austin Dobbe.

Xavier’s Derek Watry and Fox Valley Lutheran’s Gavin Schmidt were among three tied for fourth with 39s. Xavier’s Jack Schmidtke and William Bauman, along with FVL’s Kaden Kusserow, tied for seventh with 40s.

Xavier’s next tournament is the MAAC Fund Invitational at Erin Hills in Hartford on Saturday. Fox Valley Lutheran will compete at the Berlin Invitational on Monday at Mascoutin Golf Course.

The sixth Bay Conference meet is Tuesday, May 5, at Butte des Morts Country Club in Appleton, hosted by Xavier.
