APPLETON – The Xavier baseball team rallied from a five-run deficit to defeat Seymour 6-5 in a Bay Conference game Thursday at Don Hawkins Field.
Seymour led 5-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth when Gavin Wiese had a two-RBI triple and scored on a single by Quinn Comferford to get the Hawks on the board.
After Wiese wiggled out of a jam in the seventh, Xavier plated three more runs to earn the victory.
Frankie Cavaiani had an RBI double and scored on a Matt Potter single to tie the game. Following a strikeout and an error, Wiese delivered the game-winning single to plate Potter and give the Hawks (7-6, 6-1 Bay Conference) the walk-off win.
Wiese finished 4-for-4 with three RBI and Potter had two hits for the Hawks.
Xavier’s next game is Monday at Marinette.
