Appleton North softball blows past Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC – The Appleton North softball team pounded out 16 hits and extends its winning streak to five with a 14-2 rout of Fond du Lac on Thursday at Fond du Lac High School.
Brianna Gehrman was 4-for-4 with three RBI, Alyssa Wald had three hits and scored four times, and Charlotte Radtke had two hits and three RBI for the Lightning, who are now 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the Fox Valley Associatio.
Drew Brown, Evelyn Frega and Claire Therkildsen each added two hits and two RBI in the win.
Radtke picked up the pitching win, finishing with four strikeouts and one walk in the five-inning complete game.
The two teams will play again Friday at Appleton North.
