Appleton North’s Huenink wins medalist honors at Seymour Thunder Boys Golf Invitational

SEYMOUR – Appleton North senior Jonathan Huenik made eight birdies to shoot a 4-under par 68 and won the individual title at the Seymour Thunder Boys Golf Invitational on Friday at Crystal Springs Golf Course.
Huenink drained a 40-footer for his eighth birdie on his final hole of the day, the par-4 second hole, to win by two strokes.
Appleton North finished sixth with a total score of 337 and Appleton West was ninth with a 345 among the 15 teams at the tournament.
Seymour won the team title with a 309, 16 strokes better than runner-up Hortonville.
Mason Peterson had an 83, Austin Arizola shot an 84 and Graham Goldschmidt had an 85 to lead Appleton West.
Gordy Cole had an 88 and Vaughn Yingling shot a 90 for North.
