Xavier softball cruises past Little Chute

LITTLE CHUTE – The Xavier softball team snapped a three-game losing streak with an 11-1 rout of Little Chute on Saturday at Little Chute High School.

The Hawks jumped out of the gates quickly with a six-run first inning and cruised to the win, improving to 4-6 this spring.

Xavier had 10 hits, including five doubles and had four different players finish with two hits apiece.

Anna Vanden Heuvel led the charge for Xavier with two doubles and three RBI. Kalia Stammer also had a single and a double, and drove in three runs in the victory.

Morgan Staszak earned the pitching win, striking out seven without a walk.

Xavier is off until Thursday when it plays a Bay Conference game at New London.
