APPLETON – Two Appleton North pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout as the Lightning defeated Appleton West 7-0 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Thursday at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.

Evelyn Frega struck out four over two innings and Addyson Rosetti finished off the shutout with eight strikeouts over the final five innings for the Lightning, who are now 13-3 overall and 9-1 in the FVA.

Alyssa Wald went 4-for-4 and scored three times, and Drew Brown had two hits and an RBI for North, which remains tied for Hortonville for first place in the conference.

Ali Raddatz had two hits for Appleton West (0-12, 0-10 FVA).
