Kaukauna wins slugfest over Appleton East softball

APPLETON – Kaukauna scored at multiple runs in five of its six at-bats and slugged past Appleton East 18-8 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Thursday at East High School.

Reese Reichelt and Opal Sparkman homered for the Patriots (3-9, 2-9 FVA), but it wasn’t enough as Kaukauna piled up 17 hits and used eight errors and six walks to pull out the win in six innings via the 10-run rule.

Maddie Deering had three hits and scored four times, and Brianna Geiser had two hits and four RBI to pace the Kaukauna (6-7, 5-5 FVA) offense.

Appleton East is back in action Friday at home against Kimberly.
