Luxemburg-Casco doubles up Xavier baseball

APPLETON – The Xavier baseball team dropped a nonconference game to Luxemburg-Casco 4-2 on Monday at Don Hawkins Field.

Luxemburg-Casco (9-7) pulled ahead 4-0 with a three-run third and held off a late rally to defeat the Hawks (10-8).

Quinn Comerford hit a solo home run, and Carter Hermus and Porter Meach had back-to-back doubles in the fifth inning to cut Xavier’s deficit in half, but the Hawks managed just one more baserunner the rest of the way and came up short.

Xavier hosts Winneconne on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
