Xavier baseball blanks Wrightstown to win WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal

APPLETON – Three Xavier pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout as the No. 5 seeded Hawks defeated No. 12 Wrightstown 5-0 in a WIAA Division 2 baseball regional quarterfinal Thursday at Don Hawkins Field.

The Hawks (16-9) advance to a D-2 regional semifinal at No. 4 Green Bay Notre Dame (12-14) on Tuesday.

Kyler Bleck threw five shutout innings, and Quinn Comerford and Gavin Wiese each tossed an inning of relief to send Xavier on to the next round.

Wiese had two hits and two RBI, and Bleck also had two hits and scored twice for Xavier.
