Appleton North baseball defeats Hortonville to stay unbeaten in FVA

APPLETON – The Appleton North baseball team handed Hortonville its first Fox Valley Association loss with a 4-1 victory Tuesday at North High School.
Cash Christianson allowed one run over six innings and Thomas Carew tossed a shut out seventh to earn the save for the Lightning, who are now 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the FVA. Hortonville drops to 11-2 and 4-1 in conference play.
Matthew Hietpas had a pair of hits and drove in three for Appleton North with an RBI double in the second and a two-run single in the third.
Appleton North plays at Oshkosh North on Thursday.
