Appleton North baseball opens FVA season with win over Appleton West

APPLETON – Appleton North had nine hits and took advantage of seven walks to top Appleton West 9-2 in the Fox Valley Association baseball opener for both teams on Tuesday at North High School.
The Lightning scored in each of their first five at-bats to open up a commanding lead as they improve to 2-1 overall.
Cash Christianson earned the win, throwing five shutout innings with five strikeouts.
Brennan Otto hit a home run and drove in two, and Owen Reuland had two hits and scored twice for the Lightning.
Quinn Meyers had an RBI double and Isaac Ice had two hits for Appleton West (1-1 overall).
Both teams play FVA games on Thursday as North travels to Oshkosh West and Appleton West hosts Neenah.
