Appleton North boys basketball loses nonconference game to Bay Port

APPLETON – The Appleton North boys basketball team dropped a nonconference game 56-39 to Bay Port on Senior Night on Tuesday at North High School.

The Lightning rested a majority of their starters for much of the game, allowing reserves, including senior Gryhpon Armon, to play the majority of the minutes.

Matt Rosplochowski had nine points, and seniors Ben Zdzieblowski added seven and Armon five for the Lightning, who fall to 19-4.

Bay Port (17-6) knocked down 10 3-pointers, including three from Matt Stevens, who had a team-high 18 points.

Appleton North finishes its regular season at Neenah on Thursday and can clinch at least a share of the Fox Valley Association championship with a victory, which would be the first in program history.

The Lightning will open WIAA postseason play with a Division 1 regional semifinal at home on March 6 against either Hortonville or Appleton East.
