Appleton North boys basketball surges past Kimberly

APPLETON – A huge second half helped the Appleton North boys basketball team separate from Kimberly and hand the Papermakers their first Fox Valley Association loss, winning 65-44 on Thursday at Appleton North High School.
North led 24-20 at halftime before blowing the game open with a 17-point advantage over the final 18 minutes.
Nathan Ramus hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 18 points, and Alexander Radkte scored seven points in the second-half run for the Lightning, who are now 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the FVA.
Will Sweeney chipped in 13 points and Matthew Rosplochowski added 11 for Appleton North.
Kegan Pleau topped Kimberly (3-3, 3-1 FVA) with 15 points.
Appleton North will compete at the 60Eight Tournament this weekend at Madison College. The Lightning will play Oregon at 6:30 p.m. Friday and either Madison LaFollette or Yorksville (Ill.) Christian on Saturday at either 3 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.
