Fox Valley Lutheran softball splits two games at Wisconsin Lutheran Triangular

MILWAUKEE – The Fox Valley Lutheran softball team split a pair of games at the Wisconsin Lutheran Triangular on Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

The Foxes defeated Kettle Moraine Lutheran 7-3 before suffering a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran in eight innings.

The Foxes scored three runs in the second inning to tie the game at 3-3, then tallied single runs in each of the next four innings to pull away.

Madison Babcock struck out 13 in 5 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win, and also had two hits for FVL.

In the loss to Wisconsin Lutheran, the Foxes were held to just two hits and could not muster a run against Vikings pitcher Sidney Schroeder.

Babcock went the distance for FVL, striking out 12 with three walks and allowed just the one run, on an RBI double by Reese Grudzielanek, in the bottom of the eighth.

Fox Valley Lutheran (18-3) will finish its regular season with nonconference games at Denmark on Tuesday and at home against Winnebago Lutheran on Thursday.
