Hortonville hands Appleton West baseball its ninth-straight loss

HORTONVILLE – The Appleton West baseball team lost its ninth game in a row, falling 6-1 to Hortonville in a Fox Valley Association game Thursday at the Commercial Club Park.
Gary Wuest hit a home run, one of just two hits from Hortonville, who improves to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in the FVA.
Appleton West’s Kellin Gilbert allowed six runs, but just two earned, over five innings while striking out five. He also had one of the three hits in the game for the Terrors (1-9, 0-5 FVA).
Appleton West will play a nonconference game at Plymouth on Friday.
