Kimberly shuts out Appleton East baseball

KIMBERLY – Two Kimberly pitchers combined on a five-inning three-hit shutout in the Papermakers’ 11-0 win over Appleton East in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Thursday at Sunset Park.
Bryce Mischler struck out nine over four innings and Drew Furman finished off the shutout for the Papermakers, who are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the FVA.
Adan Vargas had two of Appleton East’s three hits in the loss as the Patriots fall to 0-2 overall and in the FVA.
Beckett Hermus and Lex Knaebe each homered for Kimberly.
Appleton East host Kingsford (Mich.) for a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m.
