Top seed Waunakee proves too tough for Appleton United in WIAA boys lacrosse regional final

WAUNAKEE – The Appleton United boys lacrosse team had its season come to an end with an 18-4 loss to No. 1 seed Waunakee in a WIAA regional final on Tuesday night at Waunakee High School.

Waunakee, the defending WIAA state champions, took a quick 4-0 lead and never looked back as Appleton United could not get back in the game.

Trevin Schultz, Wes Post, Sam Stillwell and Jake Koller had goals for Appleton United, which finishes its season with a 12-6 record.

Waunakee (18-1) will host Hudson (9-8) in a sectional semifinal on Thursday.
