Fox Valley Lutheran softball blanks New London, wraps up Bay Conference title

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran softball team clinched no worse than a share for the Bay Conference championship with a 3-0 win over Shawano on Thursday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

Madison Babcock threw a three-hit complete game shutout, striking out 13 with two walks as the Foxes improve to 18-2 overall and end their Bay Conference schedule with a 13-1 record. Seymour can tie FVL for the conference title if its defeats New London on Monday.

FVL’s Lexi Hanson had an RBI single in the second inning, and Paige Leavitt tripled home two runs in the third for all of the scoring in the game.

Leavitt finished 3-for-3 and Claire Pfrang added two hits in the win for the Foxes.

Fox Valley Lutheran will play Kettle Moraine Lutheran and Wisconsin Lutheran at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
