Winneconne holds off Fox Valley Lutheran baseball

WINNECONNE – A late rally from Fox Valley Lutheran fell one run short as the Foxes lost 4-3 to Winneconne in a Bay Conference baseball game Tuesday at Winneconne High School.

The Wolves led 4-1 after five innings before FVL plated a pair of runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Wyatt Schluter that was followed by a run-scoring triple from Luke Heimerl.

Heimerl was stranded at third as the inning ended with two strikeouts, and FVL left the tying run on in the seventh as it drops to 13-12 overall and 7-6 in the Bay Conference.

Both Wyatt Schlueter and Heimerl had two hits for the Foxes.

Jack Schlueter threw a complete game for FVL, striking out six with just one walk.

Lucky Pahl had three hits for Winneconne (13-9, 9-4 Bay).

The two teams will play again Thursday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
