Appleton North baseball shuts out Appleton East

APPLETON – Cash Christianson threw a complete-game six-hit shutout to lead the Appleton North baseball team to a 4-0 win over Appleton East on Tuesday at North High School.
Christianson struck out five, did not walk a batter and scattered six singles to help the Lightning improve to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the Fox Valley Association with their eighth win in a row.
Brennan Otto had an RBI single in the third inning to give North a 1-0 lead.
The Lightning busted the game open in the sixth as Owen Reuland had an RBI single, Thomas Carew walked with the bases loaded, and Griffin Stan had a sacrifice fly. Reuland had two of North’s seven hits.
Nick Verbeten also tossed a complete game for Appleton East (2-7, 0-7 FVA), finishing with two strikeouts and one walk.
Evan Benbrooks and Calvin Feucht each had two hits for the Patriots.
Appleton North plays at Fond du Lac and Appleton East hosts Appleton West on Thursday.
