Appleton North boys golf defeats Hortonville for first FVA win

APPLETON – Appleton North senior Jonathan Huenink shot a four-under par 31 to lead the Lightning to a 156-160 win over Hortonville in a Fox Valley Association boys golf dual Friday at Reid Golf Course.

Huenink’s score, the best nine-hole total in the FVA this season, helped North (1-5) pick up its first conference dual victory. Hortonville drops to 5-2.

Gordy Cole added a 40 and Camden Huck shot 41 to help the Lightning to the win.

Appleton North will play Kimberly at High Cliff Golf Course in Sherwood on Tuesday.
