Fox Valley Lutheran baseball picks up walk-off win over Freedom

APPLETON – Jack Schlueter singled home Cooper Kobin with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Fox Valley Lutheran baseball team a wild 11-10 walk-off win over Freedom in a nonconference game Monday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
Noah Mayer had a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game for the Foxes and force extra innings.
FVL reliever Brady Popp threw two scoreless innings to keep Freedom at bay before the Foxes were able to finish off the win.
Mayer and Schlueter both finished with three RBI, and Kobin scored four times for FVL (13-11).
Fox Valey Lutheran will play at Winneconne on Tuesday and hosts the Wolves on Thursday to finish its regular season.
