Fox Valley Lutheran softball rolls past rival Xavier

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran softball team maintained its lead atop the Bay Conference with a 14-0 shutout of Xavier on Tuesday at Xavier High School.
Madison Babcock struck out nine over three innings and Brianna Dahlke gave up Xavier’s only hit over the final two innings to combine on the shutout win for the Foxes, who are now 17-2 overall and 12-1 in the Bay Conference.
Babcock picked up her 500th career strikeout in earning the victory.
Natalie Bromm homered and drove in two runs, as did Brianna Dahlke, Tenley Wolfrath and Kinley Peterson. Dahlke and Claire Pfrang each had three hits as FVL finished with 17 in all.
Both teams are back in action Thursday as Fox Valley Lutheran hosts Shawano and Xavier travels to Seymour.
