Late rally lifts Kaukauna past Appleton North softball

APPLETON – Kaukauna smashed out 16 hits and defeated Fox Valley Association leader Appleton North 5-2 in softball action Tuesday at North High School.
The Ghosts (8-8, 6-6 FVA) scored three times in the top of the seventh as Lily Boyle hit a two-run homer and Macey De Valk added an RBI single to break open a tie game.
Appleton North falls to 14-4 overall and 10-2 in the FVA, falling one-half game behind Hortonville in the conference standings.
Valerie Baranczyk, Charlotte Radtke and Claire Therkildsen each had two hits for the Lightning.
Appleton North hosts Kimberly on Thursday.
