Hortonville pulls past Appleton East baseball

APPLETON – Hortonville scored three late runs to bust open a tie game and defeat Appleton East 7-4 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Tuesday at East High School.

Appleton East (3-15, 1-11 FVA) came back from a 4-2 deficit to tie the game after single runs in the third and fourth innings, but would not score again.

The Polar Bears (17-2, 10-2 FVA) were able to plate two runs in the fifth and tacked on another in the sixth to pull ahead for good.

Blake Dietzen went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to pace the East offense that finished with six hits.

Appleton East hosts Oshkosh North on Thursday.
