Fox Valley Lutheran’s Kusserow wins medalist honors at Bay Conference boys golf meet

WINNECONNE – Fox Valley Luthern senior Kaden Kusserow earned medalist honors at the seventh leg of the Bay Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Lake Breeze Golf Course.

Kusserow shot a 35 to finish one shot ahead of three others, helping the Foxes finish fifth in the team standings with a total score of 169.

Winneconne had four of the top six scores and won the team title with a 146, 11 strokes better than second-place Seymour. Xavier was third with a 162.

William Bauman placed eighth with a 38, and Derek Watry and Jack Schmidtke tied for ninth with 40s to lead Xavier.

Oliver Schlueter added a 41 as he finished in a four-way tie for 11th for FVL.

The second leg of the tournament, which was postponed on April 16, will be played Wednesday at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in New London to wrap up the round-robin conference schedule. The final Bay Conference Boys Golf Tournament will be held Tuesday, May 19, at Wander Springs Golf Course in Wayside.
