Pulaski downs Appleton East baseball in eight innings

APPLETON – Appleton East walked in a run in the top of the eighth inning and suffered an 8-7 loss to Pulaski in a nonconference baseball game Friday at East High School.
Appleton East pulled ahead 7-3 with a four-run fifth inning, scoring a run on a wild pitch, two more on a double by Nick Verbeten and another on a sacrifice fly by Caden Laumer.
Pulaski was able to force extra innings with four runs in the top of the seventh with the help of four walks and a hit batter, and won it in the eighth as East walked three and hit another batter.
Three East pitchers combined for 12 walks in the loss as the Patriots drop to 3-8.
Alex Thompson had two hits and scored twice for East.
Appleton East will play a nonconference game at De Pere on Saturday at 2 p.m.
