Radtke throws perfect game as Appleton North softball blanks Menasha in WIAA Division 1 regional final

APPLETON – Appleton North pitcher Charlotte Radtke threw a five-inning perfect game as the Lightning shutout Menasha 10-0 in a WIAA Division 1 softball regional final Thursday at Appleton North High School.

Radkte struck out seven and didn’t allow a baserunner, and also had two hits and drove in a run for the No. 1 seed Lightning (17-7), who advance to a D-1 sectional semifinal at home on Tuesday against No. 4 Waupun.

Drew Brown had two hits and three RBI, Alyssa Wald had two hits and scored three times, and Evelyn Frega had two this and two RBI for Appleton North.

Valerie Baranczyk and Alyssa Wald also each had two hits for the Lightning.
