Xavier baseball blanks New London to move to 5-0 in Bay Conference

APPLETON – The Xavier baseball team remains undefeated in the Bay Conference after shutting out New London 10-0 on Thursday at Don Hawkins Field.

The Hawks scored multiple runs in four different innings and finished off the game by the 10-run rule with two runs in the sixth.

Carter Hermus had three hits and five RBI, Easton Stempa finished with two hits and scored three times, and Matt Potter drove in two for Xavier, which is now 6-5 overall and 5-0 in the Bay Conference.

Quinn Comerford struck out nine over 5 2/3 innings and Gavin Wiese got the final out to finish off the four-hit shutout for Xavier.

Xavier’s next game is Tuesday at Seymour.
