Xavier boys golf finishes 11th at MACC Fund Invite at Erin Hills

ERIN – The Xavier boys golf team shot a 316 to finish 11th out of 32 teams at the MACC Fund Invitational on Saturday at Erin Hills Golf Club.
Middleton had a total of 300 to win the team title, four strokes ahead of Waunakee and De Pere.
Mequon Homestead’s Ben Hillis shot a 69 to win medalist honors, finishing two shots in front of Hartland Arrowhead’s Jonathan Amtmann and De Pere’s Grant Lawton.
Xavier sophomore Derek Watry finished in a three-way tie for sixth with a 73 to lead the Hawks to the solid team finish.
Grant Neumann had a 78, William Bauman shot an 80, and Phillips Schmidtke finished with an 85 as well for Xavier.
Xavier will take on West De Pere in a dual match Monday at Fox Valley Golf Club before playing in the sixth Bay Conference Meet of the season Tuesday at Butte des Morts Country Club in Appleton.
