Xavier wins team title, FVL’s Kusserow takes second at sixth Bay Conference Boys Golf Meet

APPLETON – Xavier had its four top golfers all finish in the top 10 and won the team title a the sixth Bay Conference Boys Golf Tournament meet of the season Tuesday at Butte des Morts Country Club.

William Bauman and Grant Neuman tied for third with 38s, Derek Watry shot a 39, and Phillip Schmidtke had a 40 to lift the Hawks to a team score of 155, which was five strokes better than runner-up Winneconne.

Seymour was third with a 164 behind meet medalist Vince Sigl, who had an even-par 36, and Fox Valley Lutheran placed fourth with a 166.

Kaden Kusserow placed second with a 37, Gavin Schmidt had a 42, Quinn Murphy shot 43 and Kane Thorstensen had a 44 for Fox Valley Lutheran.

Fox Valley Lutheran will compete at the Green Lake Invitational at Lawsonia Golf Course on Wednesday.

The seventh Bay Conference meet is May 12 at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, which is Xavier’s next competition.
