Appleton United girls lacrosse picks up wins over Wausau, Sun Prairie

The Appleton United girls lacrosse team earned a pair of wins this week, defeating Wausau 8-6 on Tuesday at Wausau East High School and following that up with an 11-3 victory over Sun Prairie in a nonconference match Wednesday at home at Appleton East High School.

Candice Guerrero and Riley Harris each had a hat trick, and Kailey Heindel knocked in two goals in the Bay Valley Conference win over Wausau on Tuesday.

Ally Rhoda, Guerrero and Kayden Smith had assists, and Morgan Muntner had 12 saves in goal for Appleton.

Guerrero and Heindel both scored twice in the home win over Sun Prairie.

Ally Rhoda, Chloe Rhoda, Ella Hoetschl, Smit, Kinsley Torud, Harris and Sasha Sanchez also scored, with goaltender Muntner finishing with six saves as Appleton extended its winning streak to five.

Appleton (10-3-1, 5-0-1 Bay Valley) hosts Bay Port on Tuesday, May 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Appleton East with the winner earning the Bay Valley Conference championship.
