Seymour hands Xavier baseball its first Bay Conference loss

SEYMOUR – Seymour scored multiple runs in three different innings and handed the Xavier baseball team its first Bay Conference loss, winning 9-1 on Tuesday at Seymour High School.
Cayden Staffeldt had two hits, including a home run, and Carson Staffeldt and Kobe Barth each also had two hits apiece for Seymour (5-3, 4-1 Bay Conference). Barth drove in three runs.
Xavier’s only run came in the sixth inning when Carter Hermus walked with the bases loaded. Xavier falls to 6-6 and 5-1 in the Bay Conference.
The two teams will play again Thursday at Don Hawkins Field in Appleton starting at 4:30 p.m.
