Xavier baseball picks up extra-inning win over Shawano

APPLETON – The Xavier baseball team finished off a two-game sweep of Shawano with a 3-2 win in eight innings on Thursday at Don Hawkins Field.

Frankie Cavaiani knocked in Titan Milhaupt with a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth to give Xavier (13-9, 11-2 Bay Conference) the victory.

Quinn Comerford struck out seven over 6 2/3 innings before giving way to Gavin Wiese, who picked up the win by retiring all four batters he faced.

Milhaupt had three of Xavier’s eight hits.

Xavier finishes its Bay Conference schedule at Green Bay East/West on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Joannes Park.
